"Aquathlon is a fun and fast-growing sport that combines running and swimming. A typical aquathlon is a run/swim/run combination; however it is not uncommon to see a two-stage race that is simply a swim/run combination."

Description
The Arizona Plunge-n-Run is the perfect venue for athletes to practice open water swimming and swim-run transitions for the upcoming triathlon season. This fun and challenging multi-sport event combines 1000 meter open water swim with five miles of trail running through the island with beautiful views of the lake along the way. Be forewarned – Temperatures in Lake Havasu City in August are extremely high making for a challenging run. Do not expect to set a PR on the run course. Instead, take in the scenery; drink plenty of fluids; and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow athletes. Afterwards, plunge back into the lake to cool off!

Water, Gatorade, bananas and oranges will be available at the Recovery Zone near the transition area and four water stations along the run course.
